A place to hang out and be with friends
  The Den
  Forum Rules

This site aims to keep friendships intact by providing an easy informal setting to meet and discuss topics of interest. All we ask is that you make posts instead of just lurking and reading and make this an active community.

Men and women are both welcome to join, no segregation here.

This forum is free to join and only accessible to registered members except for the stillbirth section which allows for people looking for help to find it here on The Den.

There are many general boards open to everybody, from TTC to pregnancy to child rearing, to cooking, to computer games and many areas where you can post whatever you want to talk about.

We do cater for those who want a locked and private group only accessible to those who are invited by the admin of that particular group if that is the security you want for your own group.

Buddy groups are welcome if you are looking for a new home without the obligation of having to post everywhere in the community.

7 Easy questions answered

1) Can I join? The answer is yes, if you are over 13 you can join. Under 13 will need permission from a parent (details on registration page) We do ask that you post in the newbies introduction within 24 hrs of activating your account. Any accounts with no posts after a week of joining will be deleted and you will have to reapply. This is aimed at keeping out those who join purely to 'stalk'

2) Is it easy to join? Yes go to 'register' fill in the details and hopefully within 5 minutes you should have your email of account activation.
If you don't get your email or if you have login problems
could you please email Judy at theden@webbed.com.au as there is most likely a problem with the email going through. (Usually with ISPs having their spam settings too tight) I hate to hear later that someone has had  problems logging in and has just sat there wondering what to do.. email us so we can sort it out. Problems are rare but not impossible. Some ISPs block automated response as being spam so they never get to you (eg yahoo). When you receive the email or a message from us saying your account is active you are then able to log in and make your first post preferably in the new members introduction forum.  Under 13s need to get an adult to return a permission form.

3) Will I be bombarded with advertising? - No, there is a little from our sponsor webbed.com.au being the 2 logos at the bottom of this page and the logo to right here which appears on the top left hand corner of the forum.  Other than that there is not and will not be any. There is a section where members can advertise items for sale.  Fake members promoting porn or other services will be deleted with no discussion.

4) What are the rules? The rules are simple: no swearing, no harassment,  no 'flaming', no name calling, no troublemakers, no stalking. This is a family based site so family values are important. Also be wary of your username. This is not a dating or pick-up joint so nothing to do with being seen as sexy etc will be permitted.  Please visit http://www.theden.webbed.com.au/friends/viewforum.php?f=62 for a complete set of rules.

5) Can I feel secure with posting that no prying eyes or stalkers can 'hop on in'? We have upgraded security so that nobody other than registered members can read or post to most of the boards.  Only two areas are general access those being the Pregnancy Loss support section and the Blogs area. Your safety and security are our main concern.

6) Is this site free? Yes this forum is free. It does however cost money to run. So if you feel like contributing either financially or by helping out then please contact us at theden@webbed.com.au

7) Is there a topic / thread / forum suitable for me. Yes or if not it can be arranged simply by PMing an admin or starting one off yourself. I know there are several people who  join and then wait for a thread suitable for them but there are plenty of general threads you can start off in or PLEASE ask for a thread or start one off yourself. If you don't post because you are waiting for somebody else then The Den will never grow.

If you experience email problems then please contact us on the above email or to theden@webbed.com.au.

Welcome and enjoy the experience
